The Weber barbecue was invented in 1952, by George Stephens. During the 60's and 70's the Weber bbq grew in popularity, featuring on television shows, and became a national outdoor brand name creating the modern barbecue culture in Britain today. Weber was the first garden manufacturer to leap from charcoal to gas, launching the gas barbeque in 1985 that has become a true classic, like the Weber brand itself.
