We have a huge range of roles across the company – almost as varied and as diverse as our ranges of furniture.
Throughout Scotland (Aberdeen, Inverness, Dundee, Uddingston, Edinburgh and, of course, Tillicoutry) our furniture showrooms are, we believe, rather special and we continuously develop and improve on them. Branches host teams of managers, sales staff and administrators with the largest team based at Tillicoultry (as you’d expect …see the store locator On the web to get the feeling of the size of this one location)

We are always keen to meet strong retailers to work in our ever expanding Homestores (in Tillicoultry and Aberdeen) and horticultural staff for our Garden Centre (Tillicoultry) and similarly experienced catering staff for our large restaurants (The Hub & Butterfly at Tillicoultry).

Not only are we a high profile name but, being a Scottish Company, we also have a Head Office based in Scotland….. so in addition to the operations side of the business we have accounts staff, purchase ledger, credit control, IT, stock control, buying, HR, supply chain and distribution to name but some.

POSITION : Homestore - Department Manager 
LOCATION : ABERDEEN

Ideal location – no need to struggle in to the town centre – sited on a main bus route and with free parking right at the door.
The Sterling Homestore at Bridge of Don has now been open for nearly a year and is getting busier and busier.  We have a wonderful range of homewares and accessories for the home - linens, tabletop, cookshop, interiors, and loads more. 
Our Department Managers work closely with their teams, developing and helping them.  Responsible for sales, stock, ordering/buying, standards, merchandising and not least providing excellent service to our customers, this position is ideal for someone with relevant experience, both of running a retail department and staff supervision.

POSITION : Homestore - Senior Retail Staff Permanent FT &PT 
LOCATION : ABERDEEN

The Sterling Homestore at Bridge of Don has now been open for nearly a year and is getting busier and busier.  We have an opportunity for an experience retail salesperson to join us.  Our senior staff work closely with the Department Managers, and enjoy some additional responsibilities.
Working across all departments – linens, tabletop, cookshop, interiors, and loads more and dealing with stock, merchandising, ticketing, cash handling – the most important however is having the right attitude towards our customers.  A genuine desire to provide excellent customer care – both in communication with our customers and having good product knowledge to help answer their enquiries – is essential.

POSITION : Furniture Sales Staff PT & FT 
LOCATION : ABERDEEN

Sterling Aberdeen will shortly be celebrating its first birthday following its massive re-vamp last year.  We almost doubled in size – building a mezzanine in the existing store and introducing the Homestore and restaurant. 

Like a department store but with all the advantages of out-of-town retailing – free car parking at the door, avoiding city centre congestion – our store has a great atmosphere.  It’s busy and growing busier.

We are now looking to add to our furniture sales team, particularly for our classic and designer ranges of furniture.

Our furniture sales staff assist the customer to chose their furniture.  They develop an in-depth understanding of the furniture, its finishes and its features so that the customer may make an informed choice.  Communication skills are essential to this role – talking and listening – to ensure that we are best placed to assist the customer.  Previous sales experience is preferable particularly if gained in a similar environment.

POSITION : CATERING SENIOR SUPERVISOR 
LOCATION : TILLICOULTRY

Our Hub Café at Sterling, Tillicoultry needs to add to its busy management team.  If you love catering but hate the crazy late restaurant hours this is ideal for you.

Ideally P/T but F/T considered - we are looking for an experienced catering supervisor, or a catering manager looking to move to a less demanding position. 

This is a £1M+ turnover restaurant linked to a massive furniture complex and as you would expect is at its busiest at the weekend.  The position will include weekend working and will involve cooking, serving etc – a very hands-on role.  There will also be an element of catering administration so some admin/PC experience would be an advantage.

POSITION : P/T Administration/Cash Desk
LOCATION : EDINBURGH (Murrayfield)
 


Sterling Furniture is a well-established furniture retailer.  Our Edinburgh store is stunning – contemporary and designed to show to the best advantage the furniture and accessories sourced from around the world. 

We have a vacancy in our admin team and are looking to recruit – ideally to work Friday – Monday although this could vary dependent on the availability of the successful candidate.  Saturday & Sunday will form part of the normal week but there is flexibility on the ‘week’ days.

Our admin staff process the customer sales, deal with customer service and perform a variety of other administrative tasks.  Experience in administration, cash handling and dealing directly with customers would all be advantageous.   The successful applicant will have good PC skills, good communication and telephone skills, and will have a genuine desire to provide good customer service.

Our Cash Desk/Admin staff have a varied role as the job title suggests, working with this busy furniture retailer. There is a high administration content in this role which also includes dealing with our customers, their payments and orders. 

Successful applicants will have good PC skills, excellent communication skills and with experience of admin or dealing with customers.  The normal working week will include Saturday & Sunday with the additional hours worked during Mon - Fri.
